6 Ways To Build BacklinksBuild Backlinks For SEO

Many questions are asked time and time again on how to build backlinks to a website. For those who are employing strict white-hat methods to build their backlinks, there are tried and tested backlink building techniques that can be successfully used to build high-quality niche related backlinks to your site.

  1. Commenting on Blogs – One of the easiest ways of creating a backlink to your site is through the comments on blogs. By adding your sites URL when posting comments on other blogs you will receive a one-way backlink to your site.
  2. Posting on Forums – Posting in forums is also a great way to build backlinks. By having your URL in your signature, every time you post in the forum your URL will also be added which is another link back to your website.
  3. Social Networks – From the evolution of Web 2.0, social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and the like are the hot spots of the Internet today. Millions of people visit these sites daily to make friends or to promote their products or services. You may also register on those sites and post links to your site along with the comments you make in your friend’s profile. This way you can create a large number of backlinks for your site. While not all social websites use do-follow, using Social Networks can generate alot of traffic back you your website.
  4. Social Bookmarks – Social bookmarking is another way you can create a backlink to your site. Sites like Delicious allow you to bookmark are site that you find interesting and if your site is interesting enough to others, they will add your site to their list of favorite sites, and through repetition you will gain a large volume of one-way links to your site.
  5. Articles Directories – You can write articles on various topics and publish them on article directory sites. Many article directories provide what is known as a resource box where you can provide a little about yourself (the author) and also provide a link back to your site. The great thing about Article Directories is that if your article is informative and intriguing it may be published on other sites and newsletters. When your article is re-published on another site, your resource section must be kept intact which will provide an even greater number of backlinks pointing back to your site. Writing content for article directories is much easier these days using software packages such as article spinners.
  6. Link Exchanges – Although it is a very old method for building traffic and backlinks, link exchanges still work. Link exchange with quality and relevant sites and you will not only benefit from backlinks, you will also get the benefit of additional traffic.

The secret to building backlinks to your website is that you follow the backlink building techniques listed here on a continual basis by using duplication. By duplicating your backlink buildings techniques on a continue basis you will continue to grow your backlink count on a gradual basis and avoid any unnecessary attention from Search Engines.

On-Page SEO

5 Important Tips For On-Page SEOOn-Page SEO

1. Quality Content

Have you ever heard the phrase “Content Is King”?

If you have then you will know that one of the most important aspects for On-Page SEO is having high quality posts on your blog. Putting aside the duplicate content argument, if you provide the reader with high quality valuable content then they will most likely share the information either through Social Media or a link back from their blog.

2. Targeting the Right Keyword

A little research can equal big results. Conduct some keyword research to establish what information readers are looking for and structure your article around that primary keyword. In addition to this, by using a long tail keyword you will targeting a smaller number of the search traffic but are focusing on people who are more interested in what you are offering.

3. Keyword Density

Keyword density refers to how many times a particular keyword appears in a article. So for example, if you have an article with a 2% Keyword Density, the word would appear 2 times per 100 words. By implementing the right level of keyword density in your posts you identify to the search engines what keyword (and topic) your are discussing.

4. Keyword Proximity

Keyword Proximity refers to the combination of the density of a keyword and the prominence. Basically, this means the location of your keywords in a sentence and how close they are to each other.

An example always helps:

  • How Keyword Proximity affects search engine rankings
  • How Keyword Proximity affects rankings in a search engine

The first heading is better as the keywords are in closer proximity to each other.

5. Interlinking

While interlinking may not be considered a very important On-Page SEO area to focus on, it does bring many rewards. Firstly, you allow search engines to identify which pages or posts are being linked to within your website. This is a great way to elevate the importance of key pages or posts, especially when used with the right anchor text.

The second advantage that this brings (while not strictly a On-Page SEO technique) is that it allows readers to click through to other areas on your site based on the links that you have provided.

There is a multitude of different On-Page SEO techniques and areas of refinement, however by following the above tips you can ensure that you are on your way to a more Search Engine Optimized website.
