Flavors.me?
While reading through my personal RSS feed, I came across something that sparked my interest from one of the websites that I subscribe to – Flavors.me. No it’s not a ice-cream flavor picker.
Flavors.me is a great new online tool that allows anybody to quickly and easily create a website for yourself using your own content or content from across the world.
Why Should I Use Flavors.me
Flavors.me can be used to create personal homepages or ‘Lifestreams’. The service is very simplistic and this works great for this type of social site. Setting up an account is very easy. All you need to do is to provide your name, email, and an about paragraph followed by the services you want to link to your account.
With Flavors.me still being new, the choice of services is limited at this time with only Flickr, Tumblr, Twitter, Vimeo, Last.fm, Facebook, Goodreads, Netflix, and RSS feeds being available.
Signing Up and Configuring Flavors.me
Once you have provided your details and selcted the services you want, you are able to configure the site with your own design.
You can edit the layout, background, fonts and color scheme. You can also upload a background image to use instead of the blank background.
The display if the services can be changed around into various layouts and offer different ways in which the services (say for example Twitter) are displayed on the site.
I had some fun playing around with the settings on Flavors.me and there seems to be some promise given its early stage of development.
Obviously the more interest in Flavors.me, the more development and enhancements that will take place.
