We here in Australia do not get to attend many developer conferences. Perhaps it’s due to not having the volume in the marketplace (yet), but it is a breathe of fresh air when we little folk do get the opportunity to attend one of the more important developer functions Google DevFest 2010.
Google DevFest is a week long series of mini-conferences, which runs from 28 June until 2 July with each day focusing on a different Google developer topic. Did I mention that it is FREE?
Google DevFest Australia 2010 will feature full day sessions on a range of interesting topics including:
- Wave
- Apps
- Chrome
- Social
- Geo
As mentioned previous, each days event is free and held in the Google Sydney office located in the picturesque Sydney Harbour.
While DevFest may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it does promise to be an education filled event which will provide detailed information, concepts and techniques into one of the biggest organisations in the world.

Sounds like an interesting event and a good opportunity for people to get an insight into some of the new developments with regards to the Internet . It’s just a shame it doesn’t tour other cities in Oz.
I think we are just seen as too small of a market for Google to expand the event Colin. Then again this also goes for a large majority of Affiliate and Marketing conferences and seminar’s which seem to skip the land down-under.
