What is the Thesis Attribution Link
So you have just gone out and purchased the Thesis theme for WordPress after viewing the somewhat cool promotional videos (Or have read my review on the Thesis Theme for WordPress and why I recommend it). You have installed the theme and are ready to start customizing and adding content. The first thing that you notice is the Thesis Attribution Link at the bottom of the page.
Now this is in no way a bad thing, but for the sake of aesthetics or personal taste you would rather not have it there.
Who can remove Thesis attribution link from footer
Hold on there!
Unfortunately there is a criteria that must be met prior to playing around with the theme footer. In order to remove the Thesis attribution link from the footer you must have purchased the developer’s edition of the Thesis theme for WordPress.
The Thesis theme developer edition is a little more pricey, however does allow you to use the theme on a unlimited number of websites and removal of the Thesis Attribution Link.
How to remove Thesis attribution link from footer
Thesis uses Hooks in order to avoid modifying the core theme files, so the steps to remove the Thesis Attribution Link is very simple:
1. Click on Thesis Options
2. Select Custom File Editor
3. Select custom_functions.php from the drop down menu and click on the Edit selected file button.
4. Scroll down to the end of the window and add the following to a new line:
remove_action('thesis_hook_footer', 'thesis_attribution');
5. Save and View your updated website – now with 100% less attribution!
